SupaRELEASE is an add-on module to SupaCMDB that provides advanced release management capability, and is intended for customers who need to manage complex application releases across environments shared by multiple projects.
SupaRELEASE adds the following functions:
Work Packages define the body of work that requires Environment use in order to deploy and test applications. The Work Package links together the Environment Bookings, People and Application components that will be either tested or impacted.
A Deployment is for a particular environment time window and references one or more Work Packages that have bookings during that period. System Packages are created to represent the deployment of components to the environment. Once a Deployment has been completed the deployed components must be validated to confirm implementation was successful.
The Calendars are pivotal for forward planning and impact analysis to determine impacts of deployment activities, and provide cross-reference to other deployments falling on the same time period that impact common components.
The definition of Applications includes a reference to the Entry Points where the Application may be accessed in each environment, plus linkage to the underlying System Components that make up the Application.
Deployment Points define the target where software may be deployed and are directly related to underlying infrastructure CIs.
The above functionality means SupaRELEASE can be used to effectively manage your release process and reduce risk in shared environments.
